African Leopard
Africa contains some of the most incredible wildlife the world has ever seen, yet that wildlife is threatened by human development, pollution, climate change, etc. As wildlife filmmakers, it is our responsibility to bring awareness to this issue and teach others how to live sustainably with nature. The above video was completed by Running Wild Media during our assignment with Nat Geo Wild in Southern Africa for two months.
The story of Hosanna
Young leopards must learn just about everything they need to know for survival from their moms. As cubs, leopards will learn through playing with their food, their environment, climbing trees and occasionally, with other young leopards. To learn how to hunt, mother leopards will secure prey for their cubs and drag it back to them so they can practice jumping and chewing on the carcass. This young leopard, named Hosanna by SafariLive, spent a few hours playing with the impala her mother brought to her before climibibg into the tree to get a view of her territory with a full belly. If you look closely at the image in the exhibit, you can see how it is full with the freshest meat the bush can offer all thanks to her caring and experienced mother.
